Description
If you plan to leave Croatia several things you should keep in mind:
- Residence/stay cancellation – If you leave Croatia before the expiration of your residence/stay, you have to report it to the appropriate police department or police station. The procedure is the same as for the registration, only on the form 8a fill the field for cancellation. Also you will need to return the biometrical residence card to the appropriate police department or police station together with the notification of residence/stay cancellation.
- Health insurance cancellation – If you leave Croatia much before the expiration of the agreement period, we advise you to report it to the nearest office of the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance. Usually, for employees, the employer will make a cancellation.
- Pension insurance cancellation – If you leave Croatia before the expiration of the agreement period, we advise you to report it to the nearest office of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute. Usually, for employees, the employer will make a cancellation.
- You can ask for the certificate from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute proving your pension rights in Croatia (Potvrda o stečenom radnom stažu).
- Closing your bank accounts – do not forget to do so, but for the procedure you only need to take your identity card (biometric residence card) or your passport
- Possibly: annual tax statement
- Also make sure to cancel: deed lease, internet, telephone etc.
