The website Re-open EU, developed to help people confidently plan their holidays and travels during the summer and beyond, will be launched on 15 June 2020.
This platform has been developed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), in close collaboration with the Secretariat General and with the support of DG GROW, MOVE, HOME, SANTE, JUST, COMM, SJ, DGT, and the Council of the European Union.
The European Union, and all of its member states, in planning for a safe and responsible re-opening of Europe, has developed an interactive map which provides you with the information that you need to confidently plan your European holidays.
It will provide real-time information on borders, available means of transport, travel restrictions, public health and safety measures such as on physical distancing or wearing of facemasks, as well as other practical information for travellers.
The ‘Re-open EU’ platform is one of the measures announced by the Commission in its Tourism and Transport package of 13 May to help European tourism resume safely while respecting the necessary health precautions. It will act as a key pointof reference for travellers in the EU because it centralises up-to-date information from the Commission and the Member States in one place.
On the ‘Re-open EU’ website will be possible to browse country-specific information for each EU Member State through an interactive map, giving offering updates on applicable national measures as well as practical advice for visitors in the country. The ‘Re-open EU’ website will be available in 24 languages.
