EURAXESS assists researchers whatever their career status, employment situation and sector of employment. Developing competences in serving industry is of particular importance to EURAXESS, in light of the Lisbon 3% target where industry research counts for two thirds.
Therefore EURAXESS offers support to HR staff and managers of organisations that are hosting or planning to host foreign researchers, through regularly updated information on the web portal and specific information upon request.

1) Free publication of vacancies
On the central EURAXESS portal
you can advertise research job vacancies in your company. There are approx. 30,000 unique visits to the website every month, so your advertisement will have a great impact.
The process is very easy, just enter the
Jobs section
and sign up as a new user. All you have to input is your company’s name and basic contact details, and choose one person within the company (e.g. HR Manager), whose e-mail will serve as a main contact point.

The advantages of hiring foreigners could lie in:
- acquiring a different research background, which could supply you with new techniques, ideas, etc.
- making the research group more international and stimulating for the national staff
- accessing new contacts abroad and possibly opening up new markets, via the foreign researcher
- facilitating the preparation of research proposals and funding requests at European or international level, thanks to the language proficiencies and broader outlook of the foreign researcher.

However, if you decide to advertise your jobs on the EURAXESS web portal, nothing can stop you from hiring a candidate even if they are not a foreigner. The only requirement is that the announcement must be published in English. “Mobility” is interpreted not only as going to work in a different country, but also going to work in a different sector in ones own country (e.g. from the public to the private sector).

2) Browsing CVs of researchers across Europe
Also on the central EURAXESS portal, the Jobs section, you have the opportunity to search for the perfect candidate for your company through the posted CVs of researchers from different countries across Europe.
There are currently over 11,000 CVs in the database, to which your company can have access.

3) Assistance in solving practical problems
In case your company decides to employ a foreign researcher, the EURAXESS web portal will supply you with updated information on various issues, ranging from Taxation and Work permits to Accommodation and Childcare.
Furthermore, whenever you have a specific question, you can contact
the EURAXESS Helpdesk at the Service Centre, per e-mail, per telephone or in person. The EURAXESS Service Centre staff will gladly assist you with any hurdles you may come across.

4) All information is free of charge
The EURAXESS network is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the countries participating in the European Unions Framework Programme for Research. It is publically funded and all the information on the web portal, as well as those acquired from the EURAXESS Helpdesk, are absolutely free to researchers and organisations.
The standards, however, are set high and the staff, as well as the information they provide is both trustworthy and of high quality.
